Use of the FFP3 mask

图片
The outer layer of the FFP3 category mask tends to accumulate a lot of dust and bacteria from the outside air, while the inner layer blocks exhaled bacteria and saliva, so the two sides should not be used interchangeably, otherwise the dirt contaminated by the outer layer will be inhaled when directly pressed against the face, and become a source of infection. When the mask is not worn, it should be folded into a clean envelope with the side that fits closely to the nose and mouth folded inward. If the FFP3 mask gets wet from exhaled hot air or saliva, its effectiveness as a barrier to germs is greatly reduced. Therefore, it is always a good idea to have a few masks on hand for replacement. Do ordinary people wear FFP2 or FFP3?

图片
I'd like to urge everyone to save as much of these medical-grade masks as possible for the frontline medics, who are the ones who need them the most! Don't just go for a high level of protection, a regular medical mask will suffice for most people who are healthy and not in an infected area. Viruses are still rampant, and anti-particulate respirators, also known as dust masks, are essential to meet the demand for daily protection, whether they are medical surgical masks or FFP2 masks to isolate viruses in everyday life. But no mask is a cure-all, and there is no need to do anything that is not necessary, and the best protection for yourself and your family is to go out less and gather less, wash your hands frequently and ventilate more. FFP2 mask instructions for use

Inspect the mask before each use to ensure that it is in good working order. Inspect all parts of the mask, including the two straps, nose clip and retaining pins, and discard the mask immediately if it is damaged or missing parts. Wear the  FFP 2 mask correctly and check the fit of the mask to your face after wearing it . Dispose of the mask and replace it with a new one when it becomes damaged or when the breathing resistance is excessive. Source link: https://www.unisourcesgroup.com/news/68.html

Masks are primarily used to protect employees from serious work-related injuries or illnesses caused by exposure to chemicals, radiation, electrical equipment, human equipment, mechanical devices or in some hazardous workplaces. The PPE is divided into 3 levels (95L/min test flow rate, dusting with DOP oil). FFP1: Minimum Filtration Effect" 80% FFP2: Minimum Filtration Effect" 94% FFP3: Minimum Filtration Effect" 97% CE certification, which provides uniform technical specifications and simplifies trade procedures for products from all countries trading in the European market. https://www.unisourcesgroup.com/news/66.html

A note on FFP masks

图片
The main function of both masks is the middle layer of meltblown cloth. This layer is made up of polypropylene fibres with a diameter of 0.5 to 1 micron. FFP is the European standard. FFP2 stands for more than 94% for 0.3 micron particles, FFP3 for 97% .   The FFP1 mask requires a minimum of 80% filtration efficiency for both oily and non-oily particles, which is slightly lower and not suitable for use in the current epidemic situation. Is the FFP2 mask disposable?

图片
FFP2 masks, one of the European standard EN149:2001 for masks, are designed to trap harmful aerosols, including dust, fumes, mist droplets, poisonous gases and vapours, through the filter media and block them from being inhaled.FFP2 minimum filtering effect >94%.   We generally see FFP2 category masks, which are disposable. There are also half and full face masks, both of which can be reused multiple times by replacing the cartridge. Source: https://www.unisourcesgroup.com/news/63.html
