What is PET used for?

PET containers are used to pack soda, water, fruit juices, salad dressings, cooking oil, peanut butter, shampoo, hand sanitizer, mouthwash, medicine, and even tennis balls. Virtually all single-bottle and 2-liter bottles of carbonated soft drinks and water sold in the United States are made with PET. A special grade of PET is used for portable food containers and can be heated in an oven or microwave.
